Glutathione is a very powerful antioxidant that protects the body by targeting and destroying reactive oxygen molecules and free radicals. It neutralizes harmful free radicals, flushes away toxins, supports cell health and integrity, and strengthens immune system activity. Because today’s environment is often plagued by pollution in the air we breath, the water we drink and the water in the ground that grows our food, chemicals, pesticides and other toxins make their way into our bodies. They cause harm to our cells and systems if left unchecked.
Glutathione exists in two forms: The antioxidant “reduced L-Glutathione” tripeptide is conventionally called glutathione and abbreviated as GSH and the oxidized form is a sulfur-sulfur linked compound, known as glutathione disulfide or GSSG.
The Reduced L-Glutathione is a tripeptide made up of three amino acids called cysteine, glycine and glutamic acid. It is an antioxidant involved in many cellular functions such as detoxification, amino acid transport, production of coenzymes and recycling of Vitamins C and E.
Every cell in the body’s first line of defense is the substance Glutathione. It plays a crucial role in function and multiplication of lymphocytes to combat organisms like bacteria, viruses and parasites.
Without proper levels of Glutathione, researchers found that our cells literally commit suicide, by undergoing a process known as programmed cell death. Unfortunately, as we get older, our Glutathione levels decline.
Deficiencies in Glutathione may cause generalized cell damage, mental disorders, nerve tissue degeneration leading to coordinations problems, tremors and twitching and other different nervous system disorders. Red blood cells are prone to burst while White Blood Cells decline in function.
Its proven therapeutic uses are as an antioxidant agent, for cancer, cataracts, muscular degeneration and liver diseases.
Glutathione (GSH) is concentrated in the liver, where it functions as a key detoxifying agent. It is the major naturally occurring antioxidant in the cell. Other lesser antioxidants like Vitamin C and E depend on Glutathione for their function.
It was also found that given in higher doses, Glutathione modifies the normal pigmentation pathway from eumelanin to pheomelanin thus causing skin whitening effect.
Usual doses of Glutathione is 10mg/kilogram per day but as a skin whitener, 20-40mg/kilogram per day is used. It is advised to take Ascorbic Acid or Vitamin C equal to or twice the dose of the Glutathione which is about 500mg-1,000mg per day.
There are no known or documented adverse effects and toxicity of Glutathione.
GLUTATHIONE PROTOCOL
Glutathione Injectable by Apothecure is given intravenous only! Never intramuscular because it is very painful.
It has an initial loading dose of 6 sessions that can be done either once or twice a week depending on the availability of the patient. If it is done 2x a week, the patient will finish the 6 sessions in 3 weeks and if done once a week, it will be finished in 6 weeks time.
Usual dosage is 600mg per session. Since our product comes in 200mg/ml, patient is injected with 3 ml per session. There are studies on the use of Glutathione to treat Parkinson’s disease and they use 2,500mg 2x a week. So don’t worry about overdosage, sometimes we inject 1,200mg once a week so the patient is finished in 3 weeks.
After the 6th session, patient is evaluated again, if desired whiteness or fairness is achieved already, the patient is then maintained on a once a month 600mg IV injection.
If on the other hand patient is still not satisfied, patient can go on on a weekly basis until desired fairness is achieved. At the moment, the longest weekly patient we have right now is on her 44th week already and all of her blood chemistry results are OK specially her Liver Function Tests. When desired fairness is achieved, patient is maintained once a month.
On the average, patients notice results after the 4th-6th session but as early as the 2nd and 3rd session, patients sometimes appreciate changes already.
In our clinics, we see better and faster results when the patient is given Ascorbic Acid 1,000mg intravenously with each session of Glutathione Injection. It is not mixed with the Glutathione in the same syringe but prepared separately. Since we use gauge 25 butterfly needles to give Glutathione Injectables, we just kink the butterfly tubing after pushing the Glutathione, then change it with the Ascorbic Acid syringe.
Ascorbic Acid being viscous is diluted with Water For Injection on a 1:1 ratio. So we mix 2 ml of Ascorbic Acid 500mg/ml with 2 ml of Water For Injection then push it slowly for about 1-2 minutes.
